The Teffedest Mountains are a mountain range in the Sahara in southern Algeria. The mountains are largely composed of sand dune elements.[1]
The Teffedest Mountains have been habitat to the last relict population of Painted Hunting Dog, Lycaon pictus within Algeria,[2] although the species is now deemed by some to be extinct in the entire country of Algeria, due to habitat destruction by humans and by ongoing desertification.
